There are a total of 48 major decorative components on the carousel, which include; sixteen (16) rounding boards, upper surrounds, and center surrounds.
The center pole is the main vertical pole that supports the weight of the entire carousel. The pole is carved from a single tree trunk. Pictured is the original centerpole for Euclid Beach Park's grand carousel. It was the 19th carousel created by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company (PTC), hence the No. 19 carved into its surface.
